Earthlapse app for iPhone and iPad
Turn your iPad or iPhone into a window aboard the International Space Station. Experience stunning views of Earth captured by NASA astronauts. Touch the views and control the planet with your finger. A truly amazing one-of-a-kind experience.
The app comes complete with seven beautiful interactive views of earth as well as access to the HDEV live view showing Earth live from the Space Station. In addition the app includes 8 relaxing ambient space soundtracks, a clock, and worldwide weather from Weather Underground.
Please note that the ISS HDEV live feed is often off-line or otherwise unavailable. Even when on-line, the live view often shows black as the ISS is regularly on the dark side of Earth.
Support for AirPlay on the iPad (4th gen, 3rd gen, and iPad 2), iPhone 5, and iPhone 4S. See display options in app for instructions on how to enable.

Pros and cons of Earthlapse app for iPhone and iPad
Earthlapse app good for
The latest update is most welcome with the live view from the space station. Love it!
All that is missing in the live view is an overlay showing the position of the space station so that we have an idea when it is in the day zone of the earth.
I was impressed when these folks released Magic Windows, which just got better and better with each update, and everyone I showed it to agreed.
But theyve outdone themselves with the release of Earthlapse. Visually stunning, especially on an iPad3 retina screen. Take-your-breath-away time lapse video from the space station like youve never seen before, includimg aurora borealis from the top down. Controls arent yet as feature rich as Magic Windows, but for a first cut, well done Jetson Creative.
How long till we can add additional packs?
Totally stunning, beautiful....words fail me! Magic Window, the partner app, is a joy. To hook up the iPad to a flat screen TV, put on the surround sound, and experience the worlds achingly wondrous natural beauty from your armchair after a hard days grind at work....enchantment extraordinaire!! Cant thank the app development team enough.
If you ever wanted to view the earth from space this is the only way I know of affordably at the present. Beautiful image sequences and as stated by others prior, just wish there were even more scenes.
Thanks!
Nice app! Works fin on my iPod 4th generation. Didnt play much with it, but just note that in your screen preview and in the app itself, the space station robotic arm is called "Canadarm2" or SSRMS (Space Station Remote Manipulator System). The original Canadarm or SRMS was the arm in every space shuttle. Thanks for correcting that!
...concise, and well coded app/ work of art; visuals are stunning - a fun teaching aid - stimulates imagination in both young and old! Well done!
Some bad moments
This is so beautiful. Im glad I found it and downloaded it. Simply amazing photographic journey. Great going guys!
I was astounded by how incredibly beautiful the vistas shown in this app are. Works flawlessly.
A beautiful window view of our world. Wish Id found this sooner.
I found this after trying many of the clock apps, most of which are rife with ads or amateurish features. Earthlapse is subtle but feature-rich, elegant in design and execution.
First let me just say Im running this on my iPad 3 and Ive never had so much as a hiccup in the way of bugs or malfunctions. This is one of those really entertaining apps that also serves a practical purpose as well. Part screen saver, clock and weather tool all in one with a really fantastic audio component as well. Its a really fun and beautiful way to show off your iPad even when all its doing is just sitting there, or while docked or charging. Its not only a feast for the eyes but the ears as well. The music is so good I would actually buy it separately. Ordinarily Id say its worth between $2.99 and $5.00 bucks so its a no brainer while its still free! You cant go wrong at that price. If for some reason its not for you then just delete it.
So do yourself a favor and just get it. Especially while its
This is what space exploration is all about. I hope it will inspire young people to study science, engineering, & photography & all people to take better care of our fragile planet.
